Our collaborative vision will allow us to go further, faster, better

Pharmacelera is a dynamic and innovative company that provides solutions and services for Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) and highperformance hardware and software solutions for computer-aided drug design and alternative drugs based on specific genomic patterns.
The mission is to improve pharmaceutical R+D productivity through a lean drug discovery process based on advanced computational methodologies. In lean drug discovery, scientists spend more time and efforts in the early stages of drug development (agile, flexible and cheap) in dynamic prediction, test, learn and fail fast cycles to feed later stages (long and expensive) with candidate molecules with higher chances to succeed.

Proprietary technologies:
PharmScreen: high-precision virtual screening software package that increases the chances of finding the right molecule.
PharmQSAR is a 3D Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationship (QSAR) tool able to predict the activity and properties of new compounds

We believe such a lean model will enable the development of new therapies for unmet medical needs and the research of new treatments for therapeutic areas that affect smaller portions of the population, such as rare diseases or personalized medicine.

The 3 pillars of our technology are: accurate Quantum-Mechanics (QM) algorithms for molecular modeling, Machine Learning (ML) and High-Performance Computing.

Facultat de Farmàcia i Ciències de l'Alimentació

The University of Barcelona's Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences opened its doors more than a century and a half ago, and nowadays welcomes over 2,000 new students every academic year. The only public faculty of its kind in Catalonia, its strategic position contributes to it having a sizeable community of students from a wide range of backgrounds.

The Faculty is distributed between two campuses. Courses focusing on the various aspects of medicine are taught on the Diagonal Knowledge Gateway Campus, and those generally related to food science are taught on the Torribera Food and Nutrition Campus in Santa Coloma de Gramenet.

The Faculty aims to offer students quality teaching, highly renowned research activity, and all the resources and services they will need throughout their time at the UB.

According to various rankings, the UB is one of Europe's most prestigious universities and Barcelona is one of the best cities to live and study in.

Enrol to become part of both a community of leading academics and a beautiful, modern, open-minded city.

On 17 May 2009, the HSCSP-IR and nine other organizations created the Sant Pau Biomedical Research Institute (IIB Sant Pau), with the aim of strengthening collaborative translational research and bridging the gap between basic research and clinical practice so as to ultimately improve patient care.

The Research Institute of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (HSCSP-IR) was created on 4 June 1992 as a scientific foundation. Its mission is to promote basic, clinical, epidemiological and healthcare research in the health science and biomedical fields, with the ultimate aim of improving the health of the population.  On 10 December 2003, the Autonomous Government of Catalonia approved affiliation of the HSCSP-IR as a University Research Institute attached to the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
The Board of Trustees, the highest governing body of the Foundation Research Institute, is composed of the Foundation of Sanitary Management of the Hospital of the Santa Creu i Sant Pau, the Private Foundation of the Hospital of the Santa Creu i Sant Pau, the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and two personalities who hold relevant merits. in the world of research, enterprise or sciences, designated by the Board on the proposal of the Private Foundation of the Hospital of the Santa Creu i Sant Pau.

The HSCSP-IR has as its mission to improve the health and quality of life of the population through the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge, the training of researchers to an international standard, innovation in health and the incorporation of medical advances in clinical practice and in healthcare policies.

The HSCSP-IR is currently one of the most active research centres in Catalonia, especially in relation to translational research and the application of new discoveries to clinical practice. Since 2011 it has been part of the Catalan System of Research Centres (CERCA). At November of 2018, the Institute signed his adhesion at the Code of Conduct for CERCA  centres.

In 2020, the Institute signed the Letter of Commitment to Gender Equality in Research, which was discussed and endorsed by 19 Catalan research and health centers, and which was read during the “Summit for the Advancement and Leadership of the Women in Health Sciences “, held in Girona on October 22nd, 2019.
