September 2022 | EL PAÍS highlights VDMHealth’s AI solutions for more efficient healthcare

In September 2022, EL PAÍS featured VDMHealth in an article exploring how artificial intelligence and digital technologies can help reduce the workload of healthcare professionals and improve the way patients are supported throughout their care journey.

The article presents VDMHealth as a Barcelona-based digital health company focused on developing solutions that can make medical activity more efficient. Its approach combines artificial intelligence, health data and digital applications to support healthcare professionals in areas such as diagnosis, treatment and patient follow-up.

One of the solutions highlighted by EL PAÍS was VDMHealth’s technology for pharmacological prescription support. The system was designed to analyse medication-related data and help identify contraindications and potential interactions when a healthcare professional prescribes a treatment. At the time of publication, the company was already working with healthcare systems in Madrid and the Valencian Community.

The article also described the development of a digital health application capable of using patient clinical data to generate personalised plans related to nutrition, physical activity and emotional wellbeing. Smartphone-based technologies and artificial intelligence were being explored to capture additional health signals and support more continuous monitoring.

According to Jordi Ferrer, CEO of VDMHealth, the objective was not to replace the healthcare professional, but rather to use automation to optimise time and resources, providing doctors with relevant information and allowing them to focus their attention where human clinical expertise is most needed.

The EL PAÍS article also highlighted VDMHealth’s move to DFactory Barcelona, where the company joined an ecosystem of organisations working in areas such as biotechnology, computing, robotics, big data and artificial intelligence. This environment offered VDMHealth new opportunities for technological collaboration and further development of its digital health solutions.

This coverage reflects an important part of VDMHealth’s vision: using AI and digital technologies to support healthcare professionals rather than replace them, helping create more efficient, connected and personalised models of care.
