The UAB is a leader in Research and Innovation through networking and participation in various international research projects and platforms. It develops projects in collaboration with other universities, research centres, businesses and social partners, with the ambition of being a university of change through the generation of knowledge and innovation with excellence criteria.

The international community of the UAB consists of more than 10,000 international students – of whom 38.7% are Master's and doctoral students – as well as lecturers, researchers and staff from other countries.
